Kerrie’s official background is in healthcare communications, but her true passion has always been working with seniors and their families.
Kerrie’s first-ever visit to a long-term care residence was when she was 5 years old, and it made a lasting impression. As members of a community children’s choir, Kerrie and her friends would visit nursing homes every December to sing Christmas carols and bring holiday cheer to seniors. The feeling of spending time with warm and wise people brought her great joy – and still does.
Over the years, Kerrie has spent many happy volunteer hours with seniors engaging in friendly visits, sharing a cup of tea, and organizing music events at retirement residences.
In her spare time, Kerrie sings with a few choirs in the city and is constantly trying to improve her curling game 🥌! Her husband is a competitive wheelchair curler, and Kerrie takes an active role in organizing local sporting events for people with disabilities.
